A Thriving Hub
The aim of The Venue is to create a thriving Community & Performing Arts hub in Stocksbridge that will engage the people of the town and the wider district with a wide range of performing arts and entertainment facilities. The Venue is going be a creative and social focus for all sectors of the community, enhance cultural provision and make a valuable contribution to developing a successful, sustainable community and stimulating the local economy.
The Venue offers a range of facilities. The main auditorium is a large multi purpose concert hall and stage for live performance, accommodating up to 350, in addition there is a function suite with acoustic soundboards, a range of associated conference/meeting/training and leisure/recreational spaces (snooker room), and a full range of ancillary facilities including bar, family room, catering and administration spaces. It is a refurbishment project (15000 sq ft) with some new build to the front (2000 sq ft) to create a new visual impact and entrance foyer.
It has excellent bar and catering facilities and a strong community focus aimed at creating a Venue that is both welcoming and accessible to all ages and a friendly atmosphere and ambience. It is intended to provide a wide and varied range of opportunities for the Stocksbridge community, including clubs, community activities, participation in created activities and a programme of community based and professional theatre, music, dance and light entertainment.
In conclusion The Venue is a facility the people of Stocksbridge, Deepcar and the surrounding area can be proud of.
